Project Synergy was developed to produce highly trained, educated workers and managers who can respond to the growing needs of modern manufacturing plants, local business, and government along the California/Baja California border. This integrated, long-term, multicultural, multi-lingual educational program began as a partnership between the Centro de Educación Técnica y Superior (CETYS Universidad) in Baja California; Southwestern Community College District (SCCD) in Chula Vista, California; San Diego State University (SDSU), and Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD) in Chula Vista, California. Project Synergy also includes a community-based teacher education program that emphasizes the bilingual/bicultural aspects of the students in the region.
