The Board of Directors of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, following an extensive search process, has named a new executive director and CEO. Esther Brimmer, Ph.D., a foreign policy expert and academic, will lead NAFSA, effective January 1, 2017. She will succeed Marlene M. Johnson, who has served as NAFSA executive director and CEO since 1998.

Seeking to strengthen and formalize a partnership founded in research and extension, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the Mexican Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at working collaboratively to address sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.

The International Association of Language Centres (IALC) has welcomed two new members in North America, bringing its total membership to 98 schools with 139 centres worldwide.  International Center for Languages Studies in Washington, DC in the US and VanWest College in Vancouver and Kelowna in Canada joined the network of independent language schools this month.
